“I would welcome Nigel into the Conservative Party. There’s not much difference really between him and many of the policies that we stand for,” Braverman insisted before Cleverly’s fiery reply.
Farage’s Wild Antics
Cleverly’s response was vehemently against this idea, arguing that Farage’s antics were akin to that of a petulant child.
Farage’s “Attention” Problem
According to Cleverly, “He does these things to get attention. And, just like a spoiled child, I don’t think he should be rewarded for doing so.”
Disregarding Farage’s Displays
Cleverly argued that when Farage talks, he “disregards” most of what he says as attention seeking, claiming that the politician is nothing but a “showman.”
Cleverly Not Playing “Nigel’s Game”
“He does things and says things so broadcasters like you ask serious politicians like me questions like this. And, the bottom line is, I’m just not going to play Nigel’s game,” he said.
Farage Looking to “Destroy” Conservatives
According to the current Home Secretary, Farage has “made it clear” he is willing to “destroy” the Conservative Party.

Despite Farage claiming to be a man of the people, with many of his supporters believing so, Cleverly asserted that Farage wanted to “hurt the British people.”
